Camp Update:
The Camp Okotoks Society sold the property east of Okotoks in July 2008. New land was purchased north-west of Millarville in October 2008. The Camp Okotoks Society is excited to see this new land developed and utilized for ministry. While we are thrilled to have a new property we see that it will not be ready for the upcoming summer season.
However, we are happy to offer a limited schedule of camps for the 2009 season. These camps will be offered for all ages in alternate locations. We will be holding 2 weeks of overnight camps and are working on Day Camp locations for campers 5-9 years of age.
Camp Okotoks has rented James River Children’s Camp near Sundre for our two overnight camps. The first overnight camp will be for our Senior Children’s and Junior High age groups (9-14 or 15 years of age). This camp will run from July 27-31. Our second week of camp will be for High School campers (14-18 years of age) This camp will run August 17-23.
We recognize that the commute has increased and will be bussing campers both to and from the overnight camps this summer. Registration and bussing will be at Bethany Chapel, 3333 Richardson Way SW, Calgary AB, T3E 7B6
While our location has changed we look forward to providing an excellent and familiar camping experience for campers this summer.
Please do keep an eye on the Camp Okotoks website (www.campokotoks.com) for property updates, ways that you can support our ministry, and prayers requests. Brochures will be sent out in mid-March. Feel free to contact Carolyn Edwards our Camp Registrar to book your child into the upcoming camp season. Her contact information is (403) 281-2276 or registrar@campokotoks.com

| Letter from Camp Director Courtney
One of my favorite moments from the summer was our first round of American Eagle. American Eagle is a new game that I discovered through a friend. It’s a twist on British Bulldog. The twist is that one cannot simply tag their opponent. In true camp fashion the tagger becomes a tackler and must lift their opponent off the ground while declaring “American Eagle 1,2,3”. The opponent may (must) battle until this phrase is declared. We had a wild morning of tackling, wrestling, and ultimately seeing our group meld their talents together to accomplish victory! I love how games like this take people past their comfort zones and into moments of adventure. This is a season of transition and change for Camp Okotoks. We have sold our property and have conditionally purchased a new property near Millarville. This has been a journey for the Camp Board, our community of supporters, and myself. This journey has had its share of ups and downs and challenges along the way. I can confidently say that God used those moments to demonstrate His leadership, compassion, and faithfulness. I am excited for moments of adventure as we move and develop a new camp property. I am anticipating the discomfort of being stretched by new tasks and faced with challenges. Greater than these thoughts and feelings though is my knowledge that no matter the journey God is with us. I know that His faithfulness cannot be swayed. Thank you for your support and prayers over the summer. Please continue to support Camp Okotoks as we step into the next chapter of what God has planned for us.
